Dr. Nancy J. Priselac - Executive Director of National Center for Advancement of STEM Education

Remarkable! I can’t believe how quickly summer 2022 swept by us.

On July 12-14, nCASE provided Mathematics with Robots I (MWRI) training to 12 Maryland STEM teachers in partnership with the Maryland Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) DoD Point of Contact (POC) team led by Ellen Sevetnick and Theresa Shafer. Drs. Laura and Anthony Pyzdrowski, assisted by Bill Conley, provided the rigorous, hands-on training at St. Mary’s College in its newly renovated STEM facility.

Drs. Pyzdrowski then went on to offer MWRII to 11 Florida STEM teachers on July 20-22 for Emily Sherkow, POC of Florida Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) Orlando, at the Duval County Public Schools-Department of Science STEM Innovation Center in Jacksonville, Florida.

Aside from training, nCASE has been working closely with a cadre of committed POCs to implement capstone projects--multifaceted assignments that serve as culminating academic experiences for students at institutions of higher education. These important projects give students an opportunity to build their portfolios while demonstrating the skills learned throughout their programs. The following capstones are scheduled for this fall:

Bowie State University
Campbell University
Craven Community College
East Carolina University
George Mason University
Grove City College - Electrical and Computer Engineering
Johns Hopkins University
Michigan Technological University
North Carolina State University
Purdue University
Southern Illinois University – Carbondale
St. Mary’s College of Maryland
The Pennsylvania State University
Virginia Tech
University of Maryland
University of North Carolina – Asheville
University of North Carolina – Charlotte
University of Illinois Urbana - Champaign
University of Texas San Antonio
University of Texas El Paso
Villanova
Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University
Western Carolina University

Outstanding customer service is always at the forefront of every decision nCASE makes with regard to its DoD POCs throughout the country. Together with its Picatinny grants office, nCASE is streamlining payment and procurement processes in order to provide more efficient services to all its clients. Of course, the ultimate consideration of every program is the student. Our mission is to create student enthusiasm for STEM subjects with an ultimate goal of motivating them to become members of an innovative, diverse STEM workforce.

My team and I look forward to a busy fall ahead of us. I’ll be sharing more during my next message.

Regards,

Nancy
